Education

The Rhode Island Academy of Family Physicians is dedicated to advancing the specialty of Family Medicine by providing educational opportunities to our members, as well as providing scholarships to local medical students and residents to further advance their education and commitment to Family Medicine. 

The RIAFP Education Committee plans the annual spring RIAFP Primary Care conference that is held in RI.  This committee is also responsible for granting scholarships, providing awards and recognition to members, and coordinating additional CME throughout the year.  This committee is open to any RIAFP member so if you would like to take part in this work, please sign up.  

The RIAFP supports the Brown Family Medicine Primary Care Innovation Series which is scheduled on the first Thursday of every month from 4-5pm.  You can participate in-person at the Pawtucket Education Space or virtually and CME credit is given.

Meetings are interactive, welcoming, and focused on generating ideas that reflect real-world clinical practice, emerging trends, and member interests. Whether you enjoy brainstorming topics, recommending speakers, or helping guide educational strategy, participation offers a meaningful way to contribute to the Academy’s mission and connect with colleagues across the state.

Members who are interested in contributing to educational planning, speaker development, and program innovation are encouraged to get involved.
